Learning Program Delivery Methods

Classroom-Based
These programs are FPMI's classic seminars and instructor-led training programs. They are available for individual or group enrollment. Program lengths vary from one day to two weeks. Programs are offered at an easily accessible location or client site. Classroom programs immerse students in the learning environment where they can interact with the instructor and other participants while learning the material presented.

Virtual Classroom
Training programs conducted online via the internet. Live instructors present the materials to students who access the session from wherever there is internet access. The student interacts with the instructor and other participants via phone and/or live chat.

Online Independent Learning
These programs are self-contained, self-paced, online training programs (asynchronous) available via the Federal Management Institute Learning Portal. The student can access these courses anywhere there is internet connectivity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for up to one year. These courses may include flash animation segments, video, audio, interactive branching, simulations, role playing, and testing.

Facilitated Online Learning
Online learning facilitated by an instructor and consists of a series of learning activities, online lectures and/or independent study assignments.

Blended Learning Programs
Blended learning programs combine two or more delivery methods to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of the learning experience. For example, a blended learning program could consist of a two hour online self-study program, followed by a two week virtual class with instructor and independent study assignments, and a one day classroom based session to conduct group activities that reinforce what students have learned.
